after nine years, it is time to have another Connect BBQ!

Save the date: July 1st, 2017

It will be at a very special secret location accessible with an AB ticket.

And now we need help:
Who can help organising this party? As Ros and Martina are both quite busy, it's currently down to Paul and me (and René). Apart from fame and glory, you get the chance to decide details regarding:
- food (bought ready-made or marinated at home with the special family recipe perhaps)
- drinks
- ticket prices
- music, fun and entertainment (dancing yes or no, games yes or no, fancy dress yes or no, karaoke yes or no, booking the Stones or rather some local newcomer band)
- and and and

I am not talking full-time job here, we are not building an airport  Wink

Talk to me

Alan had this cool idea for another branching group - info on everything to enhance your creativity - ooops - sure I got that wrong - it's not about enhancing the skills but about getting more pleasure out of it - anyway:
Read for yourself, the link is in the navibar on the left
and then talk to Alan

Hi folks,

I know it's a little late, but hopefully  better late than never ...
it's time for Breakfast Club again to cheer us up in this drizzly, dark Autumn weather !
We are going back to CANA which is  centrally located in Mitte, next to the Spreekanal.
This is a Lebanese restaurant which has a delicious Sunday Brunch buffet,
comprising  a selection of Arabian Maza, finger food, hot dishes, deserts and fruit.
Their prices are reasonable too.

Where: Cana Restaurant, Neue Roßstraße 11-12, 10179 Berlin-Mitte, part of the Hotel "Großer Kurfürst".
How much? Brunch, € 13.90, drinks extra
BVG:  U2, Märkisches Museum,

Please RSVP via email to the committee email address (by Sat midday , if possible, so I can finalise the booking with CANA) if you’d like to attend  Please put something sensible in the Email header, such as "Breakfast Club", otherwise the email won't be forwarded to me and will land in spam.

We have reserved a table for 10 people, Out of consideration for the restaurant which is quite small and can get full on Sundays,  it would be nice if you could also be reasonably punctual.

Looking forward to a drink and a chat!

Hi all,

a quick survey two weeks ago revealed that
(a) people want something special before Christmas
(b) dinner á la carte was the preferred option

So there, executive deecision: Tables are reserved for Saturday, December 17, 19:00hrs, at Georgbräu in Nikolaiviertel - Spreeufer 4, U/S Alexanderplatz or U2 Spittelmarkt (we were there twice 3 and 4 years ago). They have good beer & decent wine, traditional German food (goose and duck on the Xmas menu, I am sure), some vegetarian options, what else can we ask for.

I reserved for 30, so please let us know before December 8 if you intend to come.

Hi there,

the Café Bleibtreu called me to ask if we would mind to have another table this Thursday. Isn't that nice? I remember another place where we were often re-assigned, without any notice whatsoever.
She said we'll probably be in the corner on the right-hand side of the restaurant. When in doubt, just ask :-)

Found this info as regards the Sbahn

No Sbahn eastwards from S Savignyplatz from 21h weekdays. To get to S/U Bahnhof Zoo use the bus M49 instead:

A new train protection system (TPS) is being installed on Berlin's S-Bahn suburban rail network. As a
result, services will be suspended on the line between the stops of Friedrichstrasse and
Charlottenburg on a total of 82 evenings from Sunday, 8 May 2016 until Friday, 30 September
On each of the evenings in question, S-Bahn trains will stop running at 9pm instead of the
time when service normally ends at 1.30am. The line will close on Sunday evening and not reopen
again until the scheduled start of service early on Friday morning.

The closure will not affect nights when S-Bahn services run continuously: Friday-Saturday,

I'm pleased to announce that Breakfast Club is still happening, even if not quite as regularly as before. It is currently taking place every second month or so.

Our Next Breakfast Club is
Sunday November 6th, from 11h at Cana Restaurant.
Neue Roßstraße 11-12, 10179 Berlin-Mitte, part of the Hotel "Großer Kurfürst".
Brunch currently costs € 13,90, drinks are extra.
BVG: U2, Märkisches Museum

We are happy with our nice new venue which is also centrally located in Mitte, next to the Spreekanal.
Cana is a Lebanese restaurant, Sunday Brunch comprising a delicious buffet of a selection of Arabian Maza, finger food, hot dishes and deserts.

Some general info about Breakfast Club for newbies and interested oldies....
Breakfast Club normally takes place on either the first or second Sunday every other month. Group size varies from about seven to fifteen people, many of us regulars. All are very welcome.

If you would like to attend please RSVP to committee(at), as both the organizers and the restaurant needs to know how many to plan for. Please use the Header "Breakfast Club" so that the email doesn't land in the spam folder.

and the winner is:
Café Bleibtreu
Bleibtreustraße 45, 5 min. walk from S Savignyplatz (and if the S-Bahn does not run, approx. 15 min. walk to U Uhlandstraße)

Table (inside!) is reserved for about 15 people every Thursday from now (September 1st) until May ...

behave & be nice to the staff so that we can keep this place as our permanent winter quarter for many years to come

see you all there

ps: For the upcoming meeting, Katya and Kuni promised to show up super early to try to save us a table outside.  The place does not accept reservations for outside, but then, it's supposed to be the winter quarter.
