and I heard that Zillemarkt was already booked out for the public holiday so instead it's one more week at Bleibtreu. Perhaps someone can come early and try to reserve a table outside?

Note: This is a tentative schedule - changes are possible!

Note: A reservation would be a good idea for some places (Schleusenkrug comes to mind) - who will do that?

Note: Where is/are the volunteer(s) to do this properly? It really does not take much - I can give you a list of all the beergardens we went to over the last 12 years, for many of them I even have addresses / phone numbers / websites. All it takes is
- pick a place
- make a reservation if necessary
- check the weather forecast
- make last minute changes, if necessary
Yes, one volunteer would need writing rights for the forum and the calendar, but Ros or jon can fix that in no time flat. And the time effort to organise all this is minimal, trust me (only thing that can take a bit longer is a trip to any newly suggested places to see if they are suitable - but that's fun as well)

Hi y'all,

it's about time to think about the beergarden tour.
And as you all know, I won't be around any more, and yes, I could simply enter a beergarden into the calendar every week and send you there but
- I will have no clue about the weather sitatuation in Berlin, and
- I flatly refuse to call for a reservation (which in some places is necessary)

So - where are the volunteers to take over?

Last week Kuni suggested to start the beergarden tour just some doors down, at Zillemarkt. Go for it, then!

for anybody interested in learning about the effects and conditions of multilingualism (and not just about learning the languages):

Mehrsprachigkeit: Mythen und Wirklichkeit.  Lecture with discussion
Friday, 16th. Feb., 17:30, at the Urania, Berlin
https://www.urania.de/mehrsprachigkeit-mythen-und-wirklichkeit

It's being held in german, but it it could be interesting.

The lecturer is a professor from Potsdam University, and I think I may have participated in one of the many studies he has done on this subject.

See you there ? Smiley

actually, this is more a test to see if the forum still works (which the calendar does not...)
One more time at Deponie - January 25
And then back to Café Bleibtreu where the staff are sometimes super-busy and thus a bit slow but never really inattententive.

cheers

Katja

THANK you Katja for organising and all the hard work. It was a great venue! A pity that the weather gods were unkind to us, but we still had fun.
